Common Name:   Chloride of Magnesia

Dr. Schuessler’s remedy for cramps, convulsions, neuralgic pains and spasmodic effects; showing its influence on NERVES and muscles. Suitable to tall, slender, dark and neurotic persons; or tired, languid exhausted subjects. Nervous, tense, and subject to sudden violent paroxysms of neuralgic pains; sharp, shooting like lightning, suddenly changing places; radiating, boring, constricting; extorting cries; causing restlessness and prostration etc. Twitchings. Tic. Spasmodic effects; hiccough, yawning, chorea; writer’s, piano, violin player’s cramps etc. Much pain. Ill effects of standing in cold water, cold bathing; working in cold clay; catheterism; dentition; study. Complaints of teething children. Chorea better during sleep worse at stool and emotions. Palsy, paralysis agitans.

4-6  tablets, 4 times a day, or as prescribed by the physician

  • Is best adapted to thin, emaciated persons of a highly nervous organization; dark complexion.
  • Face: red face with reddish spots on the cheeks, on both sides left & right of nose
  • Tongue: Clean/ coated white. Dry mouth, sticky saliva at corners lip
  • Affections of right side of body; head, ear, face, chest, ovary, sciatic nerve
  • Pains: sharp, cutting, stabbing; shooting, stitching; lightning-like in coming and going; intermittent, paroxysym becoming almost unberable, driving patient to frenzy; rapidly changing place, with a constricting sensation; cramping, in neuralgic affections of stomach, abdomen and pelvis
  • Great dread: of cold air; of uncovering; of touching affected part; of cold bathing or washing; of moving.
  • Languid, tired, exhausted; unable to sit up.
  • Complaints from standing in cold water or working in cold clay
  • Ailments of teething children; spasms during dentition, no fever
  • Headache: begins in occiput and extends over head; of school girls; face red, flushed; from mental emotion, exertion or hard study; worse 10 to 11 a. m. or 4 to 5 p. m.; better by pressure and external heat.
  • Neuralgia; of face, supra-orbital or infra-orbital; right side; intermittent, darting, cutting worse by touch, cold air, pressure better by external heat.
  • Toothache: at night; rapidly shifting; worse eating, drinking, especially cold things; better by heat
  • Spasms or cramps of stomach, with clean tongue, as if a hand was drawn tightly around body.
  • Colic: flatulent, forcing patient to bend double; better by heat, rubbing and hard pressure, of horses and cows when Colocynth fails to ameliorate.
  • Menses: early; flow dark, stringy; pains worse before, better when flow begins; pains darting, like lightning, shooting, worse right side, better by heat and bending double; vaginismus.
  • Enuresis: nocturnal; from nervous irritation; urine pale, copious; after catheterization.

MODALITIES:

  • Worse: Cold air; a draft of cold air or cold wind; cold bathing or washing; motion; touch.
  • Better: Bending double; heat; warmth; pressure
