Common Name: Water hemlock

It is a valuable convulsive remedy; useful in epileptiform, puerperal and uremic convulsions. Epilepsy; with priapism; worse during menses or instead of menses; pregnancy. Falls backwards and utters a loud cry before falling. Status epilepticus. As of a bug creeping under the skin about the waist; worse touch of clothes. Insanity; hallucinations. Face swollen; convulsive twitching of facial muscles; foaming at mouth, lock-jaw. Tendency to cry over little things. Rosy red blotches on face and chest, arms, abdomen. Burning heat worse head and throat. Profuse offensive sweat. Obstinate vomiting for days not relieved by anything.

Albuminuria. Apoplexy. Breast, pain in. Convulsions. Cough. Diaphragm, spasm of. Epilepsy. Hystero-epilepsy. Oesophagus, inflammation of; stricture, of. Priapism. Puerperal convulsions. Sciatica. Speech, lost. Status epilepticus. Stomatitis. Tetanus. Tongue, swollen; ulcerated.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

  • Pains all over the head with sudden unconsiousness
  • Vertigo: with falling, with nausea, vomiting, syncope, and convulsions.
  • Tickling cough, with rattling in the lower part of the chest, and thick, frothy expectoration.
  • Pain along crural and sciatic nerves, commencing in back. 
  • Twitching of the facial muscles, foaming in the mouth, locked jaws and the tendency to cry for even the smallest of things.
  • Sudden and complete loss of consciousness. Delirium like delirium tremens; constantly moved from place to place, talked without cessation and without knowing what they said; grasped at imaginary objects. Epileptic insanity; sudden furious attack.
  • Face: livid and turgid, pale and cold; ghastly; anxious. Risus sardonicus. Lips blue. Bloody froth issuing from mouth and nostrils. Trismus; jaws rigidly closed. Rose-coloured spots on face.
  • Tongue: sore and swollen; and protruded; slightly furred; raw at tip; ulcerated at edges; clean, moist, trembling.
  • Total loss of appetite, with debility. Thirst; craves cold drinks, evening. Cannot bear to drink anything hot.
  • Pupils first contracted, then dilated. Eyes turned upward and inward; and firmly fixed.
  • Epileptiform convulsions. Terrible convulsions, followed by coma or deep sleep. Convulsions, with vertigo, madness, nausea, vomiting, unconsciousness, risus sardonicus, eyeballs turned up, pupils dilated. Sudden convulsions, trismus, biting of tongue; followed by total unconsciousness. Convulsions with swollen, livid face; bloody froth from mouth and nostrils; convulsive respirations; insensibility; feeble pulse; prostration. All symptoms worse from water.
  • In a deep sleep, snoring loudly and moaning.
