Common Name: Blue Flag
Iris acts powerfully on GASTRO-INTESTINAL MUCOUS MEMBRANES; on salivary glands, LIVER and pancreas; producing profuse secretions; which are sour, acrid and burning. Oily nose; greasy taste and fatty stools;are other characteristics. Promotes the flow of bile. Symptoms set in suddenly; accompanied by rapid elimination. Cholera morbus and sick headaches.
Anus, fissure of. Bilious attack. Constipation. Crusta lactea. Diabetes (pancreatic). Diarrhoea. Dysentery. Dysmenorrhoea. Dyspepsia. Eczema. Fistula. Gastrodynia, intermittent. Headache. Impetigo. Liver, affections of. Migraine. Neuralgia. Nocturnal emissions. Pancreas, affections of. Parotid glands, affections of. Pregnancy, morning sickness of. Psoriasis. Rectum, burning in. Rheumatism. Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR
Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.
- Sensation of burning in the chest extending to the stomach.
- Nausea with excessive salivation.
- Watery stools with sensation of burning at the anus. Diarrhoea in the night. Green diarrhoea.
- Herpes zoster, associated with gastric derangements. Pustular eruptions.
- Tired headache, with mental exhaustion (studying, sewing) worse coughing, cold air; better gentle motion.
- Neuralgia worse after breakfast, involving the whole face; with copious urine, and urging for stools.
- Tongue burns or feels cold. Greasy or sweetish taste. Profuse ropy saliva; drops when talking.
- Sour, bitter eructations. Burning of whole alimentary canal, not better by cold drinks. Continuous nausea; bitter, sweetish water, acrid, watery, sour vomiting with burning. Deficient appetite. Periodical vomiting spells, every month, six weeks, lasts for two or three days.
- Stool: thin, watery; soft yellow, with rumbling, but no pain; mushy, painless; blood and mucus with straining. Frequent watery stools with burning in anus; disposition to strain and bear down.
- Pustular eruptions (impetigo), esp. on scalp and face
- Psoriasis; eczema, with gastric derangements
- Sciatica; painful drawing and lameness, as if left hip were wrenched, extending to popliteal space. Sudden shooting pains in left sciatic nerve, causing lameness worse on motion.
- Neuralgia and rheumatism of uterus.
- Morning sickness of pregnancy, vomit sour or bitter; protracted nausea; profuse ropy saliva: tenderness over stomach.
MODALITIES:
- Worse: in evening and at night, from rest.
- Better: from continued motion.
