Common Name:   Cyanide of mercury

A valuable remedy for toxaemia of acute infections; diseases esp. diphtheria when there is early rapid and extreme prostration; with cyanosis; coldness and tremors. Affects most prominently MOUTH, THROAT and LARYNX. Rapid local destruction. Putridity. Haemorrhages of dark fluid blood. Twitching and jerking of muscles. Efficient prophylactic in diphtheria. The drug is associated with acute infections and pneumonia. Other signs are quick heart actions, jerking of the muscles, presence of albumin in the urine, great weakness, tendency of escaping of blood from the ruptured blood vessel and discoloration of the skin. The tendency of anger from struggle where suffocation is imminent and paralysis of the lungs, coldness, nausea,  sexual transmitted infections, sweating and effects of the buccal activity. This has been identified with prostration giving a place in the treatment of inflammation in the mucous membranes and achieving unquestioned results.

Diphtheria. Dysentery. Enteric fever. Hæmorrhages. Kerato-iritis syphilitica. Phlebitis. Throat, sore. Varicosis.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

  • Malignant diphtheria with intense redness of fauces & great difficulty of swallowing
  • Putrid gangrenous diphthria with phagedenic ulceration, membranous croup
  • Great weakness, extreme prostration, patien cannot stand up from weakness
  • Throat Feels raw and sore. Mucous membranes broken down, ulcerated. Looks raw in spots, especially in public speakers.
  • Urine: Amber color, painful, albuminous, scanty.
  • Cutting pain, on swallowing. Much thick grayish-membrane in the throat. Looks raw in spots esp. in public speakers. Tonsils enlarged. Necrotic destruction of soft parts of palate and fauces.
  • Frequent diarrhoea preceded by severe colic. Stools; offensive, green, slimy, bloody, black.
  • Varicose veins with great tenderness of leg (left).
  • When it corresponds to the genus epidemicus, like every other remedy, is effective as a prophylactic.
