Common Name:  Verbascum thapsus, Great Mullein 

 This remedy has a marked effect on the nerves esp. the inferior maxillary branch of the fifth nerve; ears; respiratory tract and bladder and left side. Soothes nervous, bronchial and urinary irritation. Produces catarrhs and cold; spasmodic effects and neuralgias. Tearing, stitching, cramping; squeezing, crushing, paralyzing pains.

Anus, itching of. Colic. Constipation. Cough. Deafness. Enuresis. Haemorrhoids. Neuralgia. Prosopalgia. Urine, incontinence of.

Take 5 drops in half cup of water 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician OR

Medicate the globules and take 4-6 globules 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

  • Neuralgia affecting zygoma, temporo maxillary joint, and ear, particularly of left side, with lachrymation, coryza, and sensation as if parts were crushed with tongs. 
  • Otalgia, with a sense of obstruction. Deafness.
  • Cramp-like pain in soles, right foot, and knee. Lower extremities feel heavy.
  • Constant dribbling. Burning urination. Increase with pressure in bladder
  • Pain in eyes as from contraction of the orbits.
  • Deafness from getting water in, as in swimming or as if stopped by a valve.
  • Prosopalgia worse pressing teeth together, least movement; in malar bones.
  • Copious salt water in the mouth.
  • Hoarseness; voice sounds like a trumpet.
  • Frequent attacks of deep, hollow cough with sound like a trumpet; better deep breathing.
  • Cough; nervous; without waking.

MODALITIES:

  • Worse: Drafts. Change of temperature. With every cold. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Twice a day, at same hour. Talking. Sneezing. Touch.
  • Better: Deep inspiration.
